Sarah received her weekly paycheck and some cash from selling her old bicycle. Wanting to keep her money safe, she decided to visit her local bank branch to make a deposit.

Before leaving her house, she gathered her documents, knowing that having a valid ID is always important for financial security. The bank branch was just a short walk down the street. As she entered the cool, quiet building, she joined a short line of customers waiting their turn.

When called, she walked up to the counter and greeted the teller. To ensure the money went to the right place, Sarah carefully filled out a deposit slip with her correct account number, the current date, and the total amount.

She thought carefully about where the money should go. Because she needed most of these funds to pay her upcoming monthly rent and buy groceries, she instructed the teller to place the majority of the money into her checking account.

However, she also wanted to plan for her future. She asked the teller to put the remaining fifty dollars into her savings account. This way, she could earn a small amount of interest over time and continue building a reliable emergency fund.

Because she was depositing a paper check along with her cash, Sarah had to provide an endorsement by signing the back of the check. The teller processed the transaction swiftly and handed Sarah a printed receipt. Looking at the slip of paper, Sarah smiled as she saw her updated, higher account balance.
